I use Macromedia for all my design work and myEclipse for the coding work. Whenever I open a JSP the IDE spends time loading the designer and “creating preview page”. I would like to turn of this feature and save some time loading JSPs since I do not use it.

Chris,
Just go to your Window > Preferences > General > Editors > File Associations and set the “MyEclipse Classic Editor” as the default for JSP pages. This editor won’t spend any time initializing the designer tab until you click the “Design” tab and should load faster for you.
