shinichi0802MemberHi everybody,
There are informations about my MyEclipse:
Eclipse Platform
Version: 3.3.1.1MyEclipse6.0.1
Version: 6.0.1.zmyeclipse601200710
Build id: 6.0.1-GA-200710Plug-ins: PDT- http://www.eclipse.org/pdt/
I always get errors:
Multiple operations have reported errors. Select an error to view its details. HTML Syntac Validator(Time of error......) (An internal error occurred during: "HTML Syntax Validator". org/eclipse/wst/sse/ui/internal/reconcile/validator/ValidationHelper) JSP Semantics Validator (JSF) (An internal error occurred during: "JSP Semantics Validator (JSF)". org/eclipse/wst/sse/ui/internal/reconcile/validator/ValidationHelper)
I think that error because of conflict between MyEclipse and PDT(PHP) when they validation code.
Please help me to fix this bug. Thank a lot
Loyal WaterMemberWhat version of the plugin are you using ? When do you get these errors ? When you edit a page ?

To support-nipun
What version of the plugin are you using ? –> PDT 1.0.2
When do you get these errors ? –> When I save my page(PHP/JSP file).
Riyad KallaMembershinichi,
WE have made a note to look into this for our 7.0 release later this year. We don’t normally test with PDT so that will need to be something we look into. Thank you for the heads up.
Tim VollmerMemberHello,
I’ve got the same issue – even before installing PDT (just did a fresh install) or any other plugins. Currently using the 64-bit version of eclipse 3.3 (eclipse-jee-europa-winter-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz) with a 64-bit JDK (1.6.0_04).
An annoying message pops up when saving (or closing) the following files: xml, jsp, sql, properties.
This is very painful – please help.

Riyad KallaMembertvollmer,
MyEclipse does not provide a 64-bit build. You cannot use the 64-bit Eclipse builds or a 64-bit VM to run it. Sorry about the headache, but you’ll need to use the 32-bit VM and 32-bt Eclipse “Classic” builds to install MyEclipse against it for the time being.
Jaran NilsenMemberGot the same issue on Eclipse 3.3.2 with MyEclipse 6.0.1 installed. No other special plugins installed except Subversive.
Error occurs when saving XML files:
An internal error occurred during: “JSP Semantics Validator (JSF)”.
org/eclipse/wst/sse/ui/internal/reconcile/validator/ValidationHelperUpdate: Also happens after I run external tools (which refreshes the selected project afterwards… if that has anything to say)
Update 2: Stracktrace from the Eclipse log:
!ENTRY org.eclipse.core.jobs 4 2 2008-03-05 09:33:17.999 !MESSAGE An internal error occurred during: "JSP Semantics Validator (JSF)". !STACK 0 java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/eclipse/wst/sse/ui/internal/reconcile/validator/ValidationHelper at org.eclipse.jst.jsp.core.internal.validation.JSPValidator.shouldValidate(JSPValidator.java:339) at org.eclipse.jst.jsp.core.internal.validation.JSPValidator.validate(JSPValidator.java:187) at org.eclipse.jst.jsp.core.internal.validation.JSPValidator.validateInJob(JSPValidator.java:403) at org.eclipse.wst.validation.internal.operations.ValidatorJob.run(ValidatorJob.java:75) at org.eclipse.core.internal.jobs.Worker.run(Worker.java:55)
Riyad KallaMemberGuys,
When you did your Eclipse 3.3.1 or 3.3.2 installs, did you make sure to use the Eclipse “Classic” bundle and not the Eclipse “for Java EE” bundle? That is probably what is causing the hickup.
Jaran NilsenMemberI used the Eclipse for Java developers, not Java EE developers.
Riyad KallaMemberHmm try the “Classic” install and see if that corrects the issue.
You should be able to download iit, unzip it, run it and go to Help > Software Updates > Manage Configuration and add an extension point, pointing at your MyEclipse dir and restart and be all set. Then you can open your existing workspace and work from there without a hickup.
Brad OrnerMemberI am suddenly seeing the same error every time I save a file (due, I suspect, to the automatic build re-validating my JSP and JSPX files). I’m running:
Version: 6.0.1 GA
Build id: 6.0.1-GA-200710which was installed using Pulse. I am using
This just started happening. I haven’t installed anything new. Everything has been working fine (I am really liking myEclipse quite a lot, BTW, now that I got over some of the initial ramp-up pain). The only project-level change I made was to begin using CVS yesterday morning. But this validation error happened quite a few hours after I got CVS up and running in the project, so I don’t think that is the issue. I also notice I get a message indicating ‘Processing Dirty Regions’ Reason (same ValidationHelper class as given above) when I modify/save one of my jspx files (I’m using Icefaces).
Also, I saw on another post a suggestion that the project may have been corrupted and to try to switch to another workspace. When I try that, I get the error:
‘Unable to relaunch the platform because the eclipse.vm property has not been set’. I tried going to Windows->Preferences->Installed JREs and set it to the Sun SDK that comes with Java EE 5 download (v including Glassfish). Setting to that JRE didn’t make any difference.I have tried restarting MyEclipse thinking maybe Pulse might detect some inconsistency or do an update, but that also didn’t seem to make any difference.
I can paste my config details if you like (but it’s a lot of info, as you know). The key bits from the full list:

mschenkMemberI started seeing this error too during the weekend.
I just created a new profile in pulse containing only myeclipse and subversive and this one also throws these errors. This is very bad since it also prevents the internal builder from eclipse to compile my project! (I need to touch each file individually before it will compile it…)
Please fix this soon!!!PS. It really looks like a MyEclipse bug: when I switch of the JSP Semantics Validator (JSF) (under Preferences -> MyEclipse -> Validation) for both Manual an d Build, the popups disappear!
Jaran NilsenMemberI temporarily solved this issue by renaming the plugins/org.eclipse.wst.sse.ui_1.0.305.v200802142230.jar file to plugins/org.eclipse.wst.sse.ui_1.0.305.v200802142230.jar_, hence disabling it.
The rest of my Workbench seems to work fine, but I have absolutely no ideas what impact this may have on other workbenches…
Tim VollmerMemberA “Classic” install worked for me – thanks Riyad.
Riyad KallaMemberGuys I think something got updated with the Eclipse 3.3.2 release that is causing this break to occur. I am looking into it ASAP to figure out why it is incremental, sorry for the pain it’s causing!
