Francesc RosésParticipantHello,
First of all, congratulations for MyEclipse 7.0!
I installed MyEclipse 7.0 from “All in one” distribution and I observed the directory structure has been changed from previous releases. So, I’m unable to find the “eclipse” directory nor the “Eclipse.exe”.
So, I try to install WindowBuilder from Instantiations and the installation program asks me fro the Eclipse directory and this directory do not exists any more and WindowsBuilder installer do not understands MyEclipse.exe as an Eclipse executable.
What can I do?
Thanks in advance,
Francesc Rosés

Thank you, it’s been a long road. You guys have been extraordinarily patient and we appreciate that.
What can I do?
Actually if WindowBuilder offers an update site, it’s super easy. Just go to Help > Software Updates > Add/Remove Software and register the update site and then add the pieces of software you want from it and MyEclipse will take care of everything for you (in future versions this also includes managing all pending updates for you for that software automagically as well).
Sorry for the confusion.
Francesc RosésParticipantHello Riyad,
Thanks for your quick answer.
WindowBuilder offers an update site but I think I must update every Eclipse/MyEclipse installation and this implies n updates/downloads. If I use an installer I only need one download to update all MyEclipse/Eclipse installations on my computer.
I’ll try the update manager…
Best regards!

We use the Adobe Flex Builder as a plug-in, and this is not available through an update site. So, like all other software that installs as a plug-in, looking for the “eclipse” directory, and not available on an update site, we can’t use it with MyEclipse 7.0! Why?

Riyad KallaMemberKarsten & CALM,
MyEclipse 7.0 moved to a shared-cache design which is part of the design behind P2 which is the provisioning system behind Eclipse starting in 3.4 and beyond. Unfortunately (or fortunately — however you look at it) we have jumped to this design for MyEclipse and without the installers being able to recognize this layout there isn’t a whole lot we can do.
We will be adding (shortly) the support for the /dropins folder back so you can drop 3rd party plugins in, but that won’t fix installers that don’t recognize our directory layout unfortunately. You could request that the tool provider provide a manual install for you at some later date when we get /dropins support back so you can drop their tool into that folder to install it into MyEclipse or update their installer to be aware of shared-cache installs of Eclipse.

I am having the same problem. I was running the Flex Builder Plugin under Eclipse 3.3 and MyEclipse 6.0 just fine. Then I upgraded to Eclipse 3.4 and MyEclipse 7.0 but I can not get the Flex Bulder Plugin to work with the new MyEclipse. It works fine with Eclipse 3.4 but no go with MyEclipse 7.0.
Please advise.
