jfkoupesMemberHi there,
I really need an urgent help with Matisse on MyEclipse IDE.
I just installed the latest version on MyEclipse and everything works perfect and fine and my matisse palette is visible with all the swing, awt and bean components visible.
The problem i have is that as soon as i am off the internet, my Matisse pallette becomes empty (ie. all my swing, awt and bean components dissapear) yet visible in the Matisse/Swing perspective.
I tried this more than 3 times and it resulted into the same problem.
Can ANYONE urgently help me please with suggestions or fixes to this problem?Regards,
JFKOUPES.
Riyad KallaMemberCan you post your settings from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details here for us? This bug should have been fixed in 5.1.0
Olav AndersonMemberHi,
I just installed Matisse and the “Design mode” does not work.
There is no test form tools.
The palette shows up though.
Thanks for any help here!

Riyad KallaMemberJFKOUPES,
It looks like this bug is still lingering around… I will make a note of it. I’m sorry for this trouble.Update:
Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this. Can you tell me the exact steps you are doing when you are offline? For example, I tried turning off the atenna in my laptop to loose my signal. That didn’t work. So I tried sleeping my computer without an internet connection then waking it back up and lastly tried rebooting without a signal, and that didn’t work.So I’m trying to simulate your same situation of not having internet access and get the palette to show up empty, but I can’t get it to work (it shows up fine).
jfkoupesMemberHi there Riyad,
Thanks once again for your response.
Well… to answer your question…
When i tell you that i go offline, I meant that i pulled out my office network cable out of my laptop.
Now, read this scenario:
1. Install a fresh MyEclipse (from a downloaded .exe file – latest version).
2. Because the installation doesnt come with matisse (it is suppose to come with but i dont know why it didnt come with it), I need to do a software update to get Matisse into my IDE (MyEclipse) – this definitely requires internet.
3. After the software update, Matisse pallete is now available and populated with the Swing, AWT and Bean components.
4. Now, I am off to my home, I pulled out the network cable, pack my laptop and then go home.
5. Got home to continue work that i brought home, switch on my laptop but Matisse palette is not populated with the necessary components. Then convinced myself that Matisse palette requires internet connection but cant test this because i dont have internet at home.
6. Got back to work the next day, plugged my network cable in and Matisse palette is still available but the components are gone. The above is a scenario of what actually happened to me.
I hope i was able to help your simulation.
Regards,
JFKOUPES
Riyad KallaMemberJFKOUPES,
Thank you for the detail that is exactly what I was wondering. This problem though:6. Got back to work the next day, plugged my network cable in and Matisse palette is still available but the components are gone.
So even after you got back to the office, the component pallete was still empty? Did you try restarting MyEclipse? That shouldn’t be happening.
This was actually a bug in our 4.1.0 release that was fixed, and I’m just having a hard time reproducing it so I can file it as a bug for the dev team to fix.
What locale is Windows set to? I wonder if that effects it somehow…
at7000ftMemberI have the same empty palette problem with a new matisse install. I am working behind a proxy which allowed the matisse plugin update through. Using eclipse 3.2.2 and myeclipse 5.1.1. Will go back to using WindowBuilder until you guys can figure this one out. Don’t like the idea of needing a network connection just to build a gui panel.

Riyad KallaMemberRick,
Does this occur while you are online behind your proxy, or offline? As I mentioned we are still looking for a reproducible case so we can fix this, when ever try different combinations of “offline” internally we cannot get this to reproduce.Any help you could provide would be very much appreciated.
ronball56MemberI have Eclipse and My Eclipse installed on my Toshiba P105-S9722 notebook computer. I typically work offline or connected to my wireless network at home.
I recently installed My Eclipse Professional Version: 5.1.1 GA and Build id: 20070302-5.1.1-GA. This includes Eclipse Version 3.2.2 and Matisse Version 4.1.100.
The Matisse Palette is empty when disconnected from the Internet. It only works when connected to the Internet.
Is there a fix for this problem?
Riyad KallaMemberron,
As I mentioned in our post above, we cannot reproduce the issue internally. Is there anything strange about your home network? Or when you go offline?
acidpieMemberI have the same problem as Rick’s problem. After I installed Matiss completely ,the matisse palette was all right when the IDE frist run.But the IDE second run ,the matisse palette was empty.I have to don’t close my computer and the IDE now.
Is there a fix for my problem?

Riyad KallaMemberAlex,
The solution *seems* to be to stay online… although I feel like a bit of a broken record as that’s been my reply the last 4 times and no one seems to be able to provide any additional information besides “Yep me too”.We *really* want to try and find a reproducable case for this so we can fix it once and for all.
acidpieMemberThe computers that work behind a proxy have the same problem, other computers who connect internet directly don’t have the problem.
Riyad KallaMemberacidpie,
Also could you paste the information from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details here for me? I’ll file this. -
