Hi, I purchased MyEclipse yesterday, as it seems to be just the thing I need for some web development I am about to do, and it’s nice to find a product using eclipse that I already use for Java development. 🙂

I have installed MyEclipse onto Eclipse 3.2, and the install seems to go OK with no reported errors.

However, when I try to open a HTML page in eclipse I get the following:

• A dialog appears with “An Error has occurred. See error log for details.”
• The error log shows a message “Problems occurred when invoking code from plug-in: “org.eclipse.jface” in org.eclipse.ui.
• A “My Eclipse Visual HTM Designer” tab has been opened in the workbench, but the tab has no “body”.
• If you click on the “My Eclipse Visial HTM Designer” tab, two more error messages appear in the error log: “Unhandled event loop exception” in org.eclipse.ui and “com/genuitec/javascript/debug/mozilla/ImprovedMozillaBrowser” in org.eclipse.ui

If I try to open a HTML page with the standard HTML editor, it opens fine.

Can you please advise?

First thank you for the detailed report. Secondly, restart using the -clean command line argument should fix you right up. We are in the midst of trying to find a way to force the workspace to restart using -clean after installing to avoid this issue, but it’s easier said than done so for now it’s just a manual step. Sorry about that.

Thanks for coming back so quickly. I wasn’t expecting a reply on a Sunday evening! 🙂

Anyway that recommendation of starting eclipse with the -clean option did the trick.

So I can now start using things in anger now. Again, thanks for your prompt support.
